Snowden is a New York band (originally from Athens, Georgia that have play a unique brand of trippy post-punk (fuzzy guitar included). They've toured with bands such as: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Xiu Xiu, Ambluance LTD, and Arcade Fire; and were just recently signed to Jade Tree Records (Pedro the Lion, Songs: Ohia).

The first song I heard from them was their self-titled single from their new record Anti Anti. Right from the opening lines I was hooked by the echoing vocals which were followed by rich guitar line that bridges you into the first chorus. The song is also marked by strong drum work and vocals. Don't leave with out downloading it!

MP3 Snowden - Anti Anti

I checked out Snowden's earlier work and lucky for me (and you) they're equally awesome EP is available for download on their site. Go there!

MP3 Snowden - Kill the Power
MP3 Snowden - Time of the Season (Zombies Cover)

*edit - The band is actually from Atlanta GA, they were studying in Athens GA. They were shopping for a record label in New York City and considering moving there (but haven't yet). I got my info from this Under The Radar article which I misinterpreted. Thanks guys for correcting me.

In other news:
Apple released Boot Camp yesterday. It's a program that allows you to run Windows and OSX on a Mac through a dual-booting. This is huge news for Apple because now the people that say "I don't want to get a mac because I can only play this game or use this business software" have no excuse for not getting a mac (other than the slight price difference). Read all about the boot camp here.

They're from here in ATL, not Athens. And did they move to NY? I'd heard no such thing. Did some page say so?
