The Chalets

For the last edition of my self-proclaimed "Irish Week", I present you with the Chalets. They are a band that is unabashedly pop in the twee-est of forms, full of electro-bops and jumpy guitar riffs. One music journalist summed it up better than I ever could by saying, "A gloriously alt-pop amalgam, their music is both deceptively simple and infinitely catchy, garnering comparisons to the B-52’s and The Go Go’s." I couldn't agree more, this music is for anyone that gets excited when "Rock Lobster" or "Vacation" gets played at a party. "Two Chord Song" is a perfect introduction to them.

First concert I ever saw in Dublin was the Chalets. They played theme from the chalets, two-chord song and something else and that was their show.

That was late 2002 and I have been in love with Pony and Peepee ever since.
